FAQ

What inspired you to teach yoga?

My passion for yoga began at a young age, but it was never just the physical practice that captivated me. I've always been deeply intuitive and fascinated by the human experience—what shapes us, challenges us, inspires us, and helps us grow. Yoga offered a path for exploring these deeper dimensions of life through self-awareness, authenticity, spirituality, and embodied living. Yoga gave me a framework for navigating the inner landscape of thoughts, emotions, beliefs, and patterns that shape our lives. At the same time, it has been a powerful tool for helping me stay balanced, healthy, grounded, and connected through life's many seasons and challenges. I teach to share these timeless teachings and practical tools in an accessible way, helping others cultivate greater awareness, reconnect with their health, authentic voice, and inner wisdom, and find the courage to live with greater authenticity, resilience, and well-being—both on and off the mat.

Who are your most influential teachers?

I am deeply grateful to Ana Forrest, whose teachings helped shape my path as a teacher. Over the past 40 years of studying yoga and the healing arts, I have been inspired by many gifted teachers, nature, personal practice, and the lessons of everyday life. Some of my deepest learning has come through self-inquiry and the ongoing practice of integrating these teachings into how I live, relate, and move through the world.

How would you describe your classes?

My classes are welcoming, transformative, and rooted in the belief that yoga is a way of life. I blend mindful movement, core strength, breath awareness, meditation, and nervous system regulation to create thoughtfully curated experiences that support healing, growth, and well-being. Accessible to students of all levels, each class is intentionally designed, from the setting and atmosphere to the music and flow of practice, to help participants cultivate greater presence, resilience, and connection, both on and off the mat.

Why do you feel retreats are transformational?

I believe retreats can be incredibly transformational because they offer something many of us are missing: space. Space to slow down, breathe, reflect, reconnect, and listen deeply. So much of modern life keeps us focused on doing, retreats create space for being. They invite us to step away from the demands of everyday life and reconnect with ourselves, with what matters most, and with the deeper wisdom that emerges through presence and awareness. The immersive nature of retreat allows us to go deeper - deeper into our practice, deeper into ourselves, and deeper into our connection with others, nature, and the world around us. Retreats also create opportunities for meaningful community, reminding us that we are not alone in our experiences and fostering a sense of belonging, support, and shared humanity. International retreats add another dimension by exposing us to different cultures, perspectives, and ways of life, expanding our understanding of ourselves, others, and the world we share. Perhaps most importantly, my hope is that retreats help people build what I call an "inner retreat hut" - an inner sanctuary of presence, awareness, connection, and trust that they can return to long after the retreat has ended. The goal is not to escape life, but to integrate what is discovered on retreat and carry it into everyday living.
