Warm, Grounded, Practical, Transformative, Accessible
Connection, Presence, Wholeness, Vitality, Nature
This retreat offers a balanced blend of yoga, cultural exploration, and rest. Each day includes time for movement, breathwork, guided relaxation, and connection, while also leaving space to experience the beauty of Umbria through meaningful excursions, local food and wine, and the slower rhythm of Italian countryside living. It is not a fast-paced adventure trip, but rather a nourishing retreat with thoughtfully curated cultural experiences woven in.
Elizabeth’s teaching is welcoming, grounding, and accessible to all levels. Her approach blends mindful movement, functional strength, breath awareness, meditation, guided relaxation, and nervous system regulation. Practices are thoughtfully designed to help you build stability, restore balance, deepen presence, and feel more connected to yourself both on and off the mat.
Locanda Del Gallo is a beautiful boutique hotel immersed in nature boasting 10 artfully designed rooms and suites. Each room is equipped with comfortable beds and 1 private bathroom. The furnishings adorning every room were all hand-picked and brought back one by one from many distant journeys made by Paola and Irish, the owners of the Locanda del Gallo. Enjoy silence amidst the green hills and private gardens, or soak in pure relaxation in the onsite wellness center, saltwater swimming pool, and jacuzzi spa. The private chef will spoil you with local wine and healthy and organic cuisine throughout the week. Gubbio, Perugia, Assisi, and Cortona are all within easy reach, and even Siena, Florence and Rome are not too far away!
Visa requirements for Italy vary by nationality. Many travelers may enter Italy for up to 90 days for tourism without obtaining a visa in advance, while others are required to apply for one before travel. We recommend checking the entry requirements for your specific passport nationality well in advance of your departure. Your passport should be valid for at least three months beyond your planned departure from the Schengen Area and have been issued within the past 10 years.
You will book your international ticket into and out of Fiumicino international airport in Rome (airport code: FCO).
One group airport transfer from Rome will be provided on the first day of the retreat around 3:30 pm. Additionally, one group departure transfer will be provided from the retreat center back to the airport in Rome on the last day of the retreat around 10:00 am. Exact details will be provided after registration.
We love solo-travelers and we have hundreds join us every year on retreat! If you prefer to share your room and are traveling alone, we will do our best to match you with another traveler of the same gender. If we are not able to find you a roommate for the room category you initially booked, we may need to move you to an alternate rooming type. In some cases, a discounted single supplement fee may need to be applied to your invoice. We will communicate this directly to you via email prior to your departure.
Gratuities are not included in the price of your trip. Gratuities are shared by staff, housekeeping or other employees helping you throughout the week then an additional tip is always appreciated. We suggest a budget of around $10/day per guest.
Attendance varies from trip to trip, but 15-25 attendees is a general average.

International Yoga strongly recommends the purchase of travel insurance. A personal, political, environmental, health, or weather-related incident may arise that can prevent or interrupt your travels. If you do not purchase travel insurance you will be assuming 100% of any costs associated with the cancellation/ interruption of your retreat. While we cannot advise on specific travel insurance policies, we recommend looking at plans through the reputable travel insurance provider, Travelex. The FAQ section at the bottom of their website is quite helpful, and they have a number you can call as well. Note that to guarantee maximum coverage, most travel insurance providers require that you obtain a policy within 10 - 15 days of placing your initial deposit.
A $1000 non-refundable deposit is required to hold your spot on the trip. The final balance payment is due by May 14, 2027. If you cancel before the final balance deadline, we will refund any payments you have made, minus the non-refundable deposit. If you do not complete the payment on your own by that date, the card on file will be automatically charged for your remaining balance. If you register for the trip after May 14, 2027, the full amount is due at sign-up. All payments are non-refundable and non-transferable after May 14, 2027. International Yoga must strictly adhere to its cancellation policy to offset costs incurred before the commencement of the retreat.
