Yoga: 20 years. Before yoga, dance for 10 years.
deep, intelligent, clear, playful
eyes open: the world
Anna Zorzou has guided more than 30 groups through Iceland over the past five years and has been returning to the island regularly for over eight years. Drawn by Iceland’s dramatic landscapes, rich culture, and deep connection to nature, she has developed a wealth of local knowledge and a genuine love for sharing the country with others. Anna creates experiences that invite travelers to slow down, embrace the unexpected, and connect more deeply with themselves, each other, and the wild beauty of Iceland.
This retreat is intentionally designed to be a blend of both. Yoga serves as an anchor for the experience, with daily practices that help you arrive fully in each moment, connect more deeply with yourself, and integrate everything you encounter along the way. At the same time, Iceland is an extraordinary destination that invites exploration. You'll spend your days discovering waterfalls, geothermal lagoons, volcanic landscapes, black sand beaches, and charming local culture. Think of it as an adventure-filled journey supported by yoga—a chance to explore one of the world's most awe-inspiring destinations while staying grounded, present, and connected throughout the experience.
Margi's teaching blends breath-centered, alignment-based yoga with a spirit of curiosity, playfulness, and exploration. Her classes are thoughtfully designed to support the adventures of the week, helping you feel strong, mobile, grounded, and restored as you explore Iceland's extraordinary landscapes.
Expect a mix of energizing morning practices and more restorative evening sessions. Whether you're brand new to yoga or have an established practice, Margi offers clear guidance and options so that everyone can participate comfortably. The focus is less on achieving advanced poses and more on connecting with yourself, moving mindfully, and creating space to fully experience the journey.

October is a beautiful time to visit Iceland as autumn settles across the landscape. Average temperatures typically range from 2°C–10°C (36°F–50°F), with cooler mornings and evenings and slightly milder conditions along the southern coast and in Reykjavík. Weather can change quickly, so it's important to come prepared for a mix of sunshine, wind, rain, and even the possibility of an early snowfall. Daylight hours gradually shorten throughout the month, creating dramatic sunrises, golden autumn colors, and excellent opportunities to view the Northern Lights. We recommend dressing in layers and bringing a waterproof jacket, warm sweater or fleece, hat, gloves, and sturdy walking shoes.
Yes! The weather in Iceland is extremely unpredictable and can change very quickly. We will be supported by an experienced senior guide and will be adjusting our hour-by-hour plans accordingly. You can view the week's planned itinerary here.
Yes! Because we are staying at a hotel, yoga mats and props will not be available. Please bring your yoga mat and any special props you require for your yoga practice.
Attendance varies from trip to trip, but 15-25 attendees is a general average.
At International Yoga, we strongly recommend the purchase of travel insurance to protect yourself and your investment. Unexpected events—such as personal emergencies, political or environmental factors, health issues, or weather-related disruptions—can arise and may prevent or interrupt your travel plans. Note that because we must strictly adhere to our cancellation policy, you will be responsible for 100% of any costs associated with the cancellation or interruption of your retreat should you choose not to purchase travel insurance.
While we do not provide recommendations for specific policies, we suggest exploring options through the reputable travel insurance aggregator, InsureMyTrip. They can help you find a provider and policy that best suits your needs. For maximum coverage, we advise purchasing travel insurance within 7–10 days of placing your initial deposit.
A $1000 non-refundable deposit is required to hold your spot on the trip. The final balance payment is due by June 16, 2027. If you cancel before the final balance deadline, we will refund any payments you have made, minus the non-refundable deposit. If you do not complete the payment by June 16, 2027, the card on file will be automatically charged your remaining balance on that date to secure your space on the retreat, unless we have advised otherwise. If you register for the trip after June 16, 2027, the full payment amount is due upon registration. As stated in our Terms & Conditions, all payments are non-refundable and non-transferable after June 16, 2027. International Yoga must strictly adhere to its cancellation policy. Travel insurance is strongly recommended.
