Ireland: Om & Connection on the Emerald Isle

Join Beth & Terry Kiely for six nights of yoga, connection, outstanding meals, beautiful places, and a little Irish magic. Based at the historic and luxurious Ballymaloe House, this retreat is designed to nourish both body and spirit—with morning yoga/mindfulness practices followed by adventures that let you experience the heart of County Cork.  To allow you to enjoy this remarkable 300-acre property that is distinguished for its hospitality excellence, lush gardens and farm-to-table focus, two of our days will include a morning and evening practice on site.

Expect thoughtful practices, great conversation, and a healthy dose of exploration as we venture to some of the region’s most memorable spots, including Blarney, Killarney, Cobh, Kinsale, and Ballycotton. Beth and Terry bring more than two decades of teaching, global retreat experience, rigorous training, and a knack for creating community wherever they go. Come for the yoga, stay for the craic—and leave with new friends, fresh perspective, and memories to last long after you’ve crossed the pond.

Beth Kiely
Beth brings warmth, curiosity, humor, and real-life experiences to her yoga and mindfulness teachings. She loves creating spaces where people can slow down, breathe, move, explore, and have fun along the way. Her approach to these presencing practices is totally down-to-earth — inviting everyone to come exactly as they are. Beth discovered yoga more than 30 years ago, and it quickly became a lifelong passion. After “careers and MBA’s”, she and her husband, Terry, shifted to create Om on the Range in Chicago. Om’s been around for 25 years, with Beth and Terry sharing their love of yoga through classes, workshops, yoga fundraisers, and retreats. Their teachings leave people feeling refreshed, connected, and inspired. Plus there are plenty of laughs along the way! Beth ... Read More

My Profile & Retreats
Terry Kiely
Terry grew up on the South Side of Chicago and has lived in the city his entire life. After earning an engineering degree from the University of Illinois and an MBA from the University of Chicago, he enjoyed a long career in management consulting. A few years after marrying Beth, the two decided they had accomplished all they wanted in the corporate world and began considering opening a yoga studio. Both were “hooked on yoga” and believed they could offer something different to Chicago’s emerging yoga community.   After completing yoga teacher training, they opened Om on the Range in 2002—and it was an instant hit. They discovered there were many people just like them: people balancing careers, families, injuries, curiosity, and a willingness to explore new wa... Read More

What airport do I fly into?

Please book your international flights into and out of Dublin Airport (DUB). The drive from Dublin to our hotel is approximately 3 hours.

Do I need a visa for travel to Ireland?

American citizens visiting Ireland do not need a visa if they travel as a tourist with a valid U.S. passport. You will be issued a temporary tourist visa upon entry. This is valid for up to 90 days.

What are the accommodations like?

Ballymaloe House Hotel, located in the serene countryside of Shanagarry, County Cork, is a celebrated country house offering a blend of historic charm and modern comfort. Known for its warm hospitality, the hotel features beautifully appointed rooms, lush gardens, and a renowned restaurant serving seasonal, locally sourced cuisine. With its tranquil setting and rich cultural heritage, Ballymaloe House provides an authentic Irish experience perfect for relaxation and exploration.

Are airport transfers included?

A group airport transfer from Dublin Airport (DUB) will be provided on the first and last day of the retreat. The exact timing of the shuttle transfer will be confirmed 2-3 weeks before departure. The drive to Ballymaloe House Hotel takes about three hours from Dublin Airport.

What is the cancellation policy for this retreat?

A $1000 non-refundable, non-transferable deposit is required to reserve your space on the retreat, with the final balance due by May 26, 2027. If you cancel before the final balance deadline, we will refund all payments received, less the non-refundable deposit. Any outstanding balance will be automatically charged to the payment method on file on the due date, unless otherwise arranged with International Yoga. Registrations received after the final balance deadline require payment in full at the time of registration. As outlined in our Terms & Conditions, all final balance payments are non-refundable and non-transferable after the final balance deadline. Travel insurance is strongly recommended.

Are meals included?

Early morning daily herbal tea & fruit will be offered in the Grainstore before yoga, in addition to daily breakfast, 3 lunches, and 4 gourmet, multi-course dinners. All other meals should be included in your planned budget.

What if I'm traveling alone?

We love to welcome solo travelers on our retreats! Most solo travelers prefer to book a single room, however, if you prefer to share a room, we will do our best to match you with another traveler of the same gender. If we are unable to find you a roommate, however, a single supplement will apply based on the difference in room costs. You will be notified 2 to 3 weeks before the start of the retreat if we haven't been able to match you with a roommate and we will send you an updated invoice at that time.

Do I need to bring a yoga mat or props?

The hotel has a dedicated space for yoga with mats and props available so you do not need to travel with yours.

Are gratuities included?

Gratuities are not included in the price of your trip. Tipping in Ireland is appreciated but not always expected. In restaurants, it is customary to leave a tip of about 10-15% if the service is good, although some establishments may include a service charge on the bill, in which case an additional tip is not necessary. For other services, such as taxi drivers or hotel staff, rounding up the fare or leaving a small tip is considered polite but not obligatory. We suggest a budget of around $10/day per guest.

Do I need travel insurance?

At International Yoga, we strongly recommend the purchase of travel insurance to protect yourself and your investment. Unexpected events—such as personal emergencies, political or environmental factors, health issues, or weather-related disruptions—can arise and may prevent or interrupt your travel plans. Note that because we must strictly adhere to our cancellation policy, you will be responsible for 100% of any costs associated with the cancellation or interruption of your retreat should you choose not to purchase travel insurance.

While we do not provide recommendations for specific policies, we suggest exploring options through the reputable travel insurance aggregator, InsureMyTrip. They can help you find a provider and policy that best suits your needs. For maximum coverage, we advise purchasing travel insurance within 7–10 days of placing your initial deposit.
