FAQ

What inspired you to teach yoga?

The desire to align my profession with my passion. After a long-term career that lacked personal alignment, I discovered yoga and was immediately drawn to the intentional focus on breath, mindfulness, and the physical benefits of the practice. Inspired by my wonderful teachers and the joy of being part of a studio community, I pursued teacher training to align my profession with my passion, and it’s been an incredibly rewarding journey to share this practice with others.

Who are your most influential teachers?

Genny Kapuler, Margi Young, and the ups + downs of life

How would you describe your classes?

My classes blend alignment-based vinyasa with slower movements and accessible variations that allow for exploration and precision. Classes typically include pranayama, meditation, and some inspiring philosophy or poetry that might assist students on the path to greater self-awareness and well-being. Judith Hanson Lasater wrote: “What’s the number one job of a yoga teacher? To mirror back the inherent goodness and inner wisdom of each student.”

Why do you feel retreats are transformational?

Retreats expand our comfort zones and introduce us to people and places that we may not have had the chance to meet otherwise. Retreats stretch the capacity of our hearts + minds, foster compassion + understanding, and create enduring connections that last well beyond the retreat.
