Since 2015, Thread Caravan has been facilitating cultural art workshops in rural communities plagued by high street dog populations. Out of this initiative, Caravana Canina naturally emerged to address pressing community needs. With a focus on spaying and neutering as a long-term solution to combat neglect and abuse, the project has also provided crucial care such as feeding, vaccination, deworming, fostering, and adoption. Over 159 dogs have found new homes, 484 have undergone spaying and neutering procedures, and countless others have received essential care in Mexico.

No, acquiring a visa prior to your travel to Mexico is not required. During the flight to Oaxaca you will be given documentation to fill out which you will then need to present to the immigration official upon your entry into Mexico. In October, Oaxaca enjoys warm, comfortable days with highs in the mid-70s to low 80s Fahrenheit and cooler evenings dipping into the mid-50s—perfect for exploring by day and cozying up at night. While October falls near the end of the rainy season, showers are typically brief and give way to clear skies, leaving the valleys lush and vibrant. It’s an ideal time to experience the region’s colorful markets, ancient sites, and natural beauty at its most alive.
Attendance varies from trip to trip, but 15 - 25 attendees is a general average.
