Return to Your True Nature: A Joyful Retreat for Deep Rest & Renewal by the Sea

Step out of winter and into the warmth, beauty, and rhythm of Costa Rica’s magical ocean coast. This retreat is an invitation to release the heaviness of the colder months and reconnect with your natural state of ease, clarity, and aliveness. Surrounded by lush jungle, expansive sky, and the healing flow of the ocean, you’ll be held in an environment that encourages you to soften, open, and simply be. Together, we’ll create space to rest deeply, move mindfully, and reconnect—not only with nature, but with yourself and a supportive, like-hearted community.

Our days unfold at an unhurried pace, with two daily yoga sessions that gently anchor the rhythm of the retreat—creating space for renewal, insight, and deep restoration. In between, you’ll have time to wander and savor: exploring jungle paths, relaxing by the infinity pool, or simply pausing to take in the beauty around you. You may find yourself watching playful monkeys move through the trees, hummingbirds hovering nearby, and other vibrant local wildlife appearing throughout the day.

Meals are a highlight—fresh, organic, and thoughtfully prepared, enjoyed slowly in good company with space for connection and ease. You might curl up in a shady, breeze-filled nook with a book, or rest in stillness, letting the natural surroundings restore you. For those who feel called, we’ll offer two optional excursions: a visit to a nearby town to explore a local artisan farmers market, and a group outing on a catamaran to experience the coastline from the water. And the music alone could be worth the trip. Thoughtfully curated soundtracks accompany each practice, creating a deeply immersive experience, and there’s always space to let loose—moving, dancing, and connecting in ways that feel joyful, freeing, and surprisingly healing.

In this retreat, Jillian Pransky artfully weaves together mindfulness and somatics with slow-flow vinyasa, restorative yoga, meditation, and deep relaxation. With an emphasis on rhythmic breathing, internal awareness, and fully supported rest, each practice invites a true unwinding—helping you melt tension, restore balance, and create space for greater presence and lightness. You’ll return home feeling lighter, more present, and deeply renewed—reconnected to yourself, to others, and to the natural rhythm of life, carrying the warmth and clarity of this experience into your everyday world.

If you cancel before the final balance deadline, we will refund any payments you have made, minus the non-refundable deposit. Do I need travel insurance?

International Yoga strongly recommends the purchase of travel insurance. A personal, political, environmental, health, or weather-related incident may arise that can prevent or interrupt your travels. If you do not purchase travel insurance you will assume100% of any costs associated with the cancellation/ interruption of your retreat.

While we cannot advise on specific travel insurance policies, we recommend looking at plans through the reputable travel insurance provider, Travelex. The FAQ section at the bottom of their website is quite helpful, and they have a number you can call as well.

Note that to guarantee maximum coverage, most travel insurance providers require that you obtain a policy within 10 - 15 days of placing your initial deposit.

What airport do I fly into?

You will book your international flights into and out of Liberia International airport (Code: LIR). It takes approximately two hours to get from the airport to Blue Spirit.

Are there group airfares?

No, there are no group airfares, as we will have people joining us from all over the US, with some arriving early, some arriving late, some using miles, etc. We are happy to provide guidance and review any itineraries you find. Please contact us before purchasing flights, and as always, travel insurance is strongly recommended.

Are airport transfers included in the price of my trip?

Airport transfers are not included in the price of your trip, however, we will collect your arrival and departure information and coordinate transportation on your behalf. We will advise on exact costs as we get closer to departure but it is typically about $65 - $70 per person.

What if I am traveling alone?

We get hundreds of travelers each year who go on retreat alone. If you are traveling without a friend or partner, but prefer to share your room, we will do our best to match you with another traveler of the same gender. If for some reason, we are not able to match you with a roommate, a single supplement will apply.

If you prefer to have your own private room, a single supplement will apply.

Do I need a Visa for travel to Costa Rica?

Many travelers, including citizens of the United States, Canada, Panama, the United Kingdom, and the European Union, do not require a visa to enter Costa Rica for tourism for stays of up to 90 days.

Your passport must be valid for the duration of your stay. However, to avoid any issues with airlines or immigration, we strongly recommend ensuring your passport is valid for at least six (6) months beyond your date of arrival. As entry requirements may vary depending on your citizenship, country of residence, and recent travel history, we encourage all guests to confirm the most up-to-date information with their airline and the nearest Costa Rican consulate before departure.

What is the cuisine like at the retreat center?

Your stay at the retreat center includes three delicious, consciously prepared, vegetarian meals each day. Fresh, locally caught fish will also be served a few times during the week. The daily lunch and dinner buffet includes a Pure Food Option, which offers greens, grains, and legumes without oils or seasonings. This retreat center purchases food from local farmers and organic produce when available.

Do I need vaccinations to travel to Costa Rica?

There are no required vaccinations for travel to Costa Rica. However, there are some recommended vaccinations given by the CDC. To see the complete list of what is recommended, please visit the CDC Website and consult with your primary care physician to make a decision on what is best for you.
