POSTPONED: Yoga, Ceremony and Maui Adventures

Tropical beauty, succulent flavors, warm nights, sandy beaches, and beautiful sunsets. These are some of the many reasons Maui is so loved. Rejuvenate your spirit with an adventure to sacred Maui and explore a heartfelt yoga practice offered by Pete Guinosso.

The ancient sacredness of Maui creates the perfect place to go deeper into your practice in a compassionate way. Pete Guinosso, yoga teacher and adventurer, is known for his gentle guidance and intuitive assists that create an experience for students of all levels to connect with their heart and find their own authentic path in their yoga practice. In his retreats, he embraces participants with his joy and love of adventure that creates a retreat experience of community and deep relationships with others (and yourself).

Pete retreats are recognized for their exploration of new places and caring community building. For Pete’s 2020 International retreat, he chose Lumeria retreat center. Nestled between the two historic plantation towns of Makawao and Paia, this six-acre property is surrounded by stunning scenery, ocean views, beautiful beaches, and some of Maui’s best hiking trails. It is close to snorkeling, waterfalls, bamboo forests, kayaking, windsurfing and more.

Yoga, Ceremony and Maui Adventures includes twice-daily yoga. Each morning starts with a strong, intelligently sequenced yoga class that is grounded in breath and intention, sprinkled with a dash of Pete’s signature playfulness and fun. It is followed by free time, during which you can enjoy all that Lumeria retreat center and Maui’s lush North Shore have to offer. You can relax by the saltwater pool, treat yourself to a spa treatment, hike, head to the beach, take a nap in a hammock, or join an optional excursion.

After your day of activities, Pete guides you in a more gentle, calming yoga practice before dinner. Dinner is a time for gratitude and coming together in community over farm-to-table meals from the resort’s organic garden. Pete’s warmth, kindness, joy, and compassion create a place for all to gather and enjoy deep and fun personal connections.

FAQ

What airport do I fly into?

Flying from the US: Book your flights into and out of Kahului, Maui Airport (airport code: OGG)

Are airport transfers included in the price of my trip?

No, airport transfers are not included in the price of your trip. Renting a car for the duration of your stay is highly recommended as there is much to explore on the island during your free time. Also having a car makes getting to the nearest beach just 10 minutes away easy and enjoyable.

If you do not plan on renting a car, the best way to get to Lumeria is by taxi. The ride will be about 20 minutes and the cost is $30-40. You will pay your driver directly.

What are the accommodations like?

All rooms have rain showerhead and river-rock shower floors, Aveda bathroom products, artwork by Maui artists, small refrigerators, in room safes and iPod docking stations.

What if I am traveling alone?

If you prefer to share your room, we will do our best to match you with another traveler of the same gender. If we are not able to find you a roommate, a single supplement will apply.

If you prefer to have your own room, the cost of a single supplement is $700 for the week.

Are all my meals included?

Breakfast and dinner are included in the price of your trip.

Are gratuities included?

No, gratuities are not included. We recommend approx $5-8 per person per day for the housekeeping and kitchen staff.

Do I need travel insurance?

All payments to International Yoga are non-refundable & non-transferable. The purchase of travel insurance is strongly recommended to ensure you are covered should any unexpected event arise. A personal, political, environmental or weather-related incident or pre-existing medical condition may prevent or interrupt your travels.  These events are rare but do occur and underscore the importance of being covered by travel insurance.  Should you elect to not purchase travel insurance, you will be assuming 100% of any costs incurred for trip cancellation or trip interruption. TravelEx  and World Nomads are two reputable organizations. There is a broad spectrum of policies and options so make sure you are clear on what exactly is covered.

What is the cuisine like?

Chef Ben Diamond harvests the edible landscape for his farm-to-table dinner menus (which change daily) using seasonal ingredients, harvested from the bounty of Lumeria's organic gardens and other local farms. Each night, sample new dishes prepared from mahi-mahi, Pacific steelhead trout, and other local fish and seasonal produce. In the morning, a complimentary breakfast of organic fruits, yogurt, and granola starts the day.

How close is the nearest beach?

A favorite among locals, Baldwin Beach is the closest and most accessible beach at approximately 4.2 miles from Lumeria Maui (a 10 minute drive).

What is the cancellation policy for this trip?

All retreats include a $500 non-refundable / non-transferable deposit, which is required to hold your spot on the trip. If you cancel prior to December 12, 2019, we will refund your payment minus the non-refundable deposit. All payments are non-refundable & non-transferable after December 12, 2019. International Yoga must strictly adhere to its cancellation policy to offset costs incurred prior to the commencement of retreat. Click here to view the Terms and Conditions to which you agree upon registration.
