POSTPONED: Renew & Restore: Healing Women's Retreat

“There is nothing as certain as silence, stillness and solitude to introduce you to the secrets of yourself.”

Join Dani for a powerful and transformational week as we nourish our heart and soul at the beautiful Haramara Retreat Center in Sayulita, Mexico. Twice daily practice will take place in an open-air shala overlooking the green lush jungle with the sounds of nature and the majestic ocean in the background. You will enjoy healing yoga therapy and gentle somatic yoga practices to open the body, meditation and breathwork to quiet the mind, and restorative yoga to reset the nervous system. This unforgettable week will provide you the time and space to slow down and connect with the parts of yourself that are sometimes forgotten. You will create lasting memories, meet new friends, and immerse yourself in natural beauty. This women’s retreat is perfect for best friends, mothers and daughters, or you can simply come alone and enjoy the solitude. There will be plenty of time each day to lounge at the pool, sleep in a hammock, read a book, walk along the ocean, get a healing massage or go into Sayulita and shop!

2020 was an incredibly hard year for all of us; as we’re still trying to put back the pieces of our lives and move on. For 7 days we will step away and unplug from our day to day routine and responsibilities in order to rest, let go and self reflect. When women come together in community to move, breathe, eat good food and laugh...this can be extremely powerful medicine for our soul. Space will be limited to assure everyone feels safe. The cabanas, yoga shala and dining area are all open air, so there will be plenty of space to spread out and socially distance. If you feel called to indulge yourself in a week of self care, then we hope you will join Dani for a truly transformational experience!

FAQ

What airport do I fly into?

Your international flight needs to be booked round trip to Puerto Vallarta (airport code: PVR).

Are airport transfers included in the price of my trip?

No, airport transfers are not included in your trip. Once you have provided us with your flight information, we will organize your airport transfer for you. The total cost of the transfer from the airport to/from Haramara is $65 - $100 based on the number of passengers in the van. Your driver will collect the fee and US dollars are accepted. We will advise on the exact cost of your transfer pertaining to total passengers 1-2 weeks before departure.

What are the accommodations like?

Wake up each morning in your own secluded jungle cabana with ocean views. These individual rooms have their own private bathrooms with a shower, a flush toilet and hot and cold water. Sleep in comfortable hand woven sheets and enjoy the gentle breezes from the Pacific Ocean. Each cabana is open-air style to allow for maximum relaxation. Some cabanas have private hammocks for lazy afternoon siestas. Enjoy, this slice of paradise is yours for the week!

Are meals included in my program cost?

Delicious and healthy gourmet meals are made from only the freshest natural and local ingredients.  The menu is chosen daily by the chef based on the ingredients that are available.  The always-changing daily menu includes seafood or vegetarian dishes.  Special dietary restrictions or requirements can be accommodated. Please be sure to note these in your registration form.

Coffee and fresh squeezed juice is offered in the mornings.  Tea, purified water and fresh fruit water are available all day.  Beer, wine and margaritas are available for purchase in the afternoons and at dinner.

What if I am traveling alone?

International Yoga gets hundreds of individuals each year who travel alone on retreat.

If you prefer to share your room, we will do our best to match you with another traveler of the same gender. In the event we are unable to match you with another traveler 50% of the single supplement will be applied to your final balance.

If you prefer to have your own room, a single supplement will also applied.

Are gratuities included?

Tips for the kitchen, dining & housekeeping staff are not included in your trip price. We suggest that you budget $15 U.S. per day/person or $100 US per week/person. This will be shared amongst all the service staff. You may leave this with our manager at the end of your stay. Gratuities for the Spa Staff need to be paid directly to them at the time of service. All gratuities should be paid in cash.

Do I need a visa for travel to Mexico?

No, acquiring a visa prior to your travel to Mexico is not required. During the flight to Puerto Vallarta you will be given documentation to fill out which you will then need to present to the immigration official upon your entry into Mexico. BE SURE YOU KEEP THIS PIECE OF PAPER FOR YOUR DEPARTURE. You will be asked for this upon check-in for your return flight home. If you do not have this piece of paper there will be a fine and the hassle of redoing all of this paperwork on the spot!

Does my travel require any vaccinations?

There are no required vaccinations for travel to Mexico. However, there are some recommended (suggested) vaccinations given by the CDC. To see the complete list of what is recommended, please visit the CDC Website and consult with your primary care physician to make a decision on what is best for you.

What is the weather like in Sayulita?

The weather is expected to be warm and humid with highs ranging in the upper to mid 80's during the day.

Are Phones/Internet/Fax available at Haramara?

There are no phones, internet or fax out at Haramara Retreat.  If you would like to use the phone, internet, or fax you will need to go into the town of Sayulita. We will provide you with ermergency contact information before departure.

Is there electricity?

There is no electricity in the cabanas.  They are illuminated at night with oil lamps and candles.  You will be unable to use any small electrical appliances like hair dryers, curling irons or razors.  There are no fans or air conditioning in the cabanas.  If you want to read at night, you will need to bring a book light with you.  There is no outdoor lighting so you will need to carry a flashlight or use a headlamp at night.  There is, however, electricity in the Yoga Pavilion and the Restaurant for recharging batteries.  It is the same voltage as the United States so no converter is needed.

How many people are expected on this retreat?

Attendance varies from trip to trip, but 12-20 attendees is a general average.

Do I need travel insurance?

Yes. As all payments to International Yoga are non-refundable, the purchase of travel insurance is strongly recommended to ensure you are covered should any unexpected event arise. A personal, political, environmental, health or weather-related incident or pre-existing medical condition may prevent or interrupt your travels.  Should you elect to not purchase travel insurance, note that you will be assuming 100% of any costs incurred for trip cancellation or trip interruption.

There are a broad variety of policies and providers for you to choose from. Be sure to understand the fine print of the policy you select to ensure you know exactly what is and isn't covered, especially if you are concerned you may need to cancel for COVID-19 / pandemic-related reasons which most carriers would cover only under a "Cancel for Any Reason" tier of coverage. IMPORTANT: in order to guarantee maximum coverage, most travel insurance providers require that you obtain a policy within 5-10 days of placing your initial deposit. Although International Yoga cannot advise on specific policies or providers, you may find this guide helpful.

What is the cancellation policy for this trip and is there increased flexibility in the time of CV-19?

All retreats include a $500 non-refundable deposit, which is required to hold your spot on the trip. If you cancel prior to the final balance due date we will refund your payment minus the non-refundable deposit. All payments are non-refundable after the final balance due date. International Yoga must strictly adhere to its cancellation policy to offset costs incurred prior to the commencement of retreat. Click here to view the Terms and Conditions to which you agree upon registration. Travel Insurance which covers 'Cancel For Any Reason, which must be purchased in a timely manner after registering, is strongly recommended.

Additional Flexibility in the time of Covid-19:  Your deposit can be transferred to another trip or kept on file to be applied at a later date anytime before the final balance is collected. We will be collecting final balances later to allow more time for you to make a final decision about participation. If the retreat is prevented from running due to government travel restrictions to our destination country we will postpone the retreat and transfer your reservation and all payments towards the new date.

What are the current Covid-19 related entry/exit requirements for the trip?

Entry into Mexico:

As per the CDC Covid-19 travel guidelines, all travelers should be fully vaccinated at least two weeks prior to the start date of the retreat.

Departure from Mexico/entry into US:

Currently, all air passengers traveling back to the US, regardless of vaccination or antibody status, are required to provide a negative COVID-19 test result prior to boarding the flight back to the US. We will coordinate on behalf of the group where, when and how this test will be obtained. Cost to be advised.

IMPORTANT: These details remain in flux and we will share the most up-to-date government travel requirements approximately two weeks prior to your departure.

What are the Covid-19 related protocols during the trip?

We will be following all of the necessary CDC-recommended CV-19 protocols for Mexico including enhanced cleaning procedures throughout the property, social distancing and masking in public places, etc. To read more about Haramara's extensive CV-19 safety protocols please readHERE.
