Reconnect & Restore in Italy

Restore and Reconnect with Jodie Rufty and Anna Zorzou amidst the majestic rolling hills of Umbria Italy. Each and every one of us needs to take time to rest, restore and reconnect to ourselves, others, and the planet in order to thrive, not just survive.

Bordering Tuscany, Umbria is often called the country’s "green heart". Known for its medieval hill towns, dense forests, and local cuisine - particularly foraged truffles and wines! Our home for the week is an intimate, family-owned, boutique hotel nestled between Gubbio and Perugia. The property offers 10 uniquely designed luxury rooms, a wellness center with salt water swimming pool, a jacuzzi, as well as onsite massage services. You'll get to enjoy delicious foods all week from produce grown in the beautiful onsite gardens.

In addition to incredible accommodations; included in your trip will be 2 yoga classes per day, 2 full day excursions, hiking, an Italian cooking class and much more!

Escape to Italy this September and give yourself the gift of nurture and nature.

My Profile & Retreats
Anna Zorzou
As long as I can remember myself, I have always been an adventurer; a curious and active girl. My quest for new discoveries led me away from my birthplace Greece to California, where I was offered a full scholarship as a college basketball player. Following college and after going through several injuries, I started looking for a new passion to replace basketball, help me recover and discover life without it. My first yoga class ever was love at first sight! I immediately became an enthusiastic student, going to class after class and gaining new experiences day by day. I invested my heart and soul into multiple teacher trainings, workshops, retreats and still do to this day. Annie Carpenter’s clear, approachable and vibrant teaching style inspired me to become a yoga teacher myself. I was ... Read More

FAQ

What airport do I fly into?

You will book your international ticket into and out of Fiumicino international airport in Rome (airport code: FCO).

What are the accommodations like?

Our luxury, boutique hotel accommodation is immersed in nature.  The Locanda del Gallo has 10 rooms all with a private bathroom, each equally fresh and silent, each different from one another. The furnishings adorning every room were all hand-picked and brought back one by one from many distant journeys made by Paola and Irish, the owners of the Locanda del Gallo. There is no television, nothing to disturb the peace and tranquillity. Enjoy green hills, gardens, silence, extreme relaxation in this wellness center with saltwater swimming pool, jacuzzi spa and massage facilities. The private chef will spoil you with healthy and organic cuisine. Gubbio, Perugia, Assisi, and Cortona are all within easy reach of the Locanda del Gallo and even Siena, Florence and Rome are not too far.

Do I need a Visa to visit Italy?

U.S. citizens may enter Italy for up to 90 days for tourist or business purposes without a visa. Your passport must be valid at least 6 months from your date of arrival.

Are airport transfers included?

Yes, airport transfers are provided from Rome on the first and last day of the retreat. We recommend arriving in the morning of trip start and departing in the late afternoon of trip conclusion.

What if I am traveling alone?

We love solo-travelers and we have hundreds join us every year on retreat! If you prefer to share your room and are traveling alone, we will do our best to match you with another traveler of the same gender. If we are not able to find you a roommate, a 50% of the single supplement cost will be applied to your final invoice.

Are gratuities included?

Gratuities are not included in the price of your trip. Gratuities are shared by staff, housekeeping or other employees helping you throughout the week then an additional tip is always appreciated. We suggest a budget of around $10/day per guest.

How many people are expected on this retreat?

Attendance varies from trip to trip, but 12 - 20 attendees is a general average.

Are meals included?

A private chef will be on staff for our group all week to prepare meals. Organic tomatoes, salad leaves and vegetables are harvested from the kitchens very own garden. Dishes will include authentic Italian and Mediterranean influences including olive oil from the olive grove, aromatic herbs from the garden, yogurt, cakes and homemade breads.

At breakfast they offer a variety such as muesli, corn flakes, various seeds, prunes, homemade yoghurt, sliced meats on request, cheese, hard-boiled eggs, jams/preserves, home baked bread, fruit juices, coffee, tea, milk.

At lunchtime there will be grains, vegetable proteins, a choice of vegetables, fruit, homemade pizzas/focaccias and more.

At dinner time there will be a first course (pasta or soups), main course (vegetarian or meat based) with side dish, raw vegetables + dips and a dessert.

Do I need travel insurance?

All payments to International Yoga are non-refundable & non-transferable. The purchase of travel insurance is strongly recommended to ensure you are covered should any unexpected event arise. A personal, political, environmental or weather-related incident or pre-existing medical condition may prevent or interrupt your travels.  These events are rare but do occur and underscore the importance of being covered by travel insurance.  Should you elect to not purchase travel insurance, you will be assuming 100% of any costs incurred for trip cancellation or trip interruption. TravelEx  and World Nomads are two reputable organizations. There is a broad spectrum of policies and options so make sure you are clear on what exactly is covered.

What is the cancellation policy for this trip?

All retreats include a $500 non-refundable / non-transferable deposit, which is required to hold your spot on the trip. If you cancel prior to June 15, 2023 we will refund your payment minus the non-refundable deposit. All payments are non-refundable & non-transferable after June 15, 2023. International Yoga must strictly adhere to its cancellation policy to offset costs incurred prior to the commencement of retreat. Click here to view the Terms and Conditions to which you agree upon registration.
