POSTPONED: Freedom & Joy in Mexico

Join Jeanne Heileman at the luxurious Haramara Resort on Mexico’s coastal region, just outside the town of Sayulita. We will remove the layers of our city life and dive into our hearts and souls, connecting to inner Radiance. Each day will offer two yoga practices with Jeanne that include Pranayama and Meditation. Each practice will focus on a theme from Ayurveda’s doshas and their Essences, the subtler aspects of this ancient healing wisdom. There will be ample time for exploring, relaxing on the beach, or hanging in a hammock. Jeanne’s retreats are full of fun mixed with as much added learning as the student desires.

FAQ

What airport do I fly into?

Your international flight needs to be booked round trip to Puerto Vallarta (airport code: PVR).

Are airport transfers included in the price of my trip?

No, airport transfers are not included in your trip. Once you have provided us with your flight information, we will organize your airport transfer for you. The total cost of the transfer from the airport to/from Haramara is $65 - $100 based on the number of passengers in the van. Your driver will collect the fee and US dollars are accepted. We will advise on the exact cost of your transfer pertaining to total passengers 1-2 weeks before departure.

What are the accommodations like?

Wake up each morning in your own secluded jungle cabana with ocean views. These individual rooms have their own private bathrooms with a shower, a flush toilet and hot and cold water. Sleep in comfortable hand woven sheets and enjoy the gentle breezes from the Pacific Ocean. Each cabana is open-air style to allow for maximum relaxation. Some cabanas have private hammocks for lazy afternoon siestas. Enjoy, this slice of paradise is yours for the week!

Are meals included in my program cost?

Delicious and healthy gourmet meals are made from only the freshest natural and local ingredients.  The menu is chosen daily by the chef based on the ingredients that are available.  The always-changing daily menu includes seafood or vegetarian dishes.  Special dietary restrictions or requirements can be accommodated. Please be sure to note these in your registration form.

Coffee and fresh squeezed juice is offered in the mornings.  Tea, purified water and fresh fruit water are available all day.  Beer, wine and margaritas are available for purchase in the afternoons and at dinner.

What if I am traveling alone?

International Yoga gets hundreds of individuals each year who travel alone on retreat.

If you prefer to share your room, we will do our best to match you with another traveler of the same gender. In the event we are unable to match you with another traveler 50% of the single supplement will be applied to your final balance.

If you prefer to have your own room, a single supplement will also applied.

Are gratuities included?

Tips for the kitchen, dining & housekeeping staff are not included in your trip price. We suggest that you budget $15 U.S. per day/person or $100 US per week/person. This will be shared amongst all the service staff. You may leave this with our manager at the end of your stay. Gratuities for the Spa Staff need to be paid directly to them at the time of service. All gratuities should be paid in cash.

Do I need a visa for travel to Mexico?

No, acquiring a visa prior to your travel to Mexico is not required. During the flight to Puerto Vallarta you will be given documentation to fill out which you will then need to present to the immigration official upon your entry into Mexico. BE SURE YOU KEEP THIS PIECE OF PAPER FOR YOUR DEPARTURE. You will be asked for this upon check-in for your return flight home. If you do not have this piece of paper there will be a fine and the hassle of redoing all of this paperwork on the spot!

Does my travel require any vaccinations?

There are no required vaccinations for travel to Mexico. However, there are some recommended (suggested) vaccinations given by the CDC. To see the complete list of what is recommended, please visit the CDC Website and consult with your primary care physician to make a decision on what is best for you.

What is the weather like in Sayulita?

The weather is expected to be warm and humid with highs ranging in the upper to mid 80's during the day.

Are Phones/Internet/Fax available at Haramara?

There are no phones, internet or fax out at Haramara Retreat.  If you would like to use the phone, internet, or fax you will need to go into the town of Sayulita. We will provide you with ermergency contact information before departure.

Is there electricity?

There is no electricity in the cabanas.  They are illuminated at night with oil lamps and candles.  You will be unable to use any small electrical appliances like hair dryers, curling irons or razors.  There are no fans or air conditioning in the cabanas.  If you want to read at night, you will need to bring a book light with you.  There is no outdoor lighting so you will need to carry a flashlight or use a headlamp at night.  There is, however, electricity in the Yoga Pavilion and the Restaurant for recharging batteries.  It is the same voltage as the United States so no converter is needed.

How many people are expected on this retreat?

Attendance varies from trip to trip, but 12-20 attendees is a general average.

Do I need travel insurance?

All payments to International Yoga are non-refundable & non-transferable. The purchase of travel insurance is strongly recommended to ensure you are covered should any unexpected event arise. A personal, political, environmental or weather-related incident or pre-existing medical condition may prevent or interrupt your travels.  These events are rare but do occur and underscore the importance of being covered by travel insurance.  Should you elect to not purchase travel insurance, you will be assuming 100% of any costs incurred for trip cancellation or trip interruption. TravelEx  and World Nomads are two reputable organizations. There is a broad spectrum of policies and options so make sure you are clear on what exactly is covered.

What is the cancellation policy?

All retreats include a $500 non-refundable / non-transferable deposit, which is required to hold your spot on the trip. If you cancel prior to January 14, 2021 we will refund your payment minus the non-refundable deposit. All payments are non-refundable & non-transferable after January 14, 2021. International Yoga must strictly adhere to its cancellation policy to offset costs incurred prior to the commencement of retreat.
