Yoga & Culture in Bali

Yoga & Culture in Bali

Come join Jeanne Heileman on a weeklong study of an ancient Tantric practice, Bhutta Shuddhi, in one of the most sacred regions, Bali. Often considered the essence of Tantra, Bhutta Shuddhi purifies and transforms the five elements, which originate in the body and mind and allow Kundalini to travel freely through the Chakras. The purpose of this magical practice is to free the consciousness from its attachment to external objects in order to realize one’s true inner nature. Each day of the retreat will be devoted to one aspect of this practice, woven into the asana, pranayama, meditation and cultural explorations of the sacred island. As you unwind from your worldly concerns, as you explore the rich culture of the region, as you receive pampering from the nurturing resort and surroundings, you will gain inner wisdom through the practices. This retreat will serve as 35 continuing education hours through Yoga Alliance.

The Bali Institute, Ubud’s premiere cultural organization, will guide us on exclusive immersion experiences to some of Bali’s most colorful markets and sacred local temples. We will observe ancient spiritual practices and meet community leaders and dignitaries to develop a better understanding of this unique culture.
