Yes, airport transfers are included in the price of your trip. Once you have provided us with your flight information, we will organize your airport transfer for you. The drive south to Playa Viva takes about 30 - 45 minutes.

This retreat center is off-grid, operating 100% on solar power, solar thermal water heating, grey, and black water management systems and built with local materials and craftsmanship. Situated on nearly 200-acres of private land, the property boasts an estuary, an Aztec archeological site, a turtle sanctuary, and a coastal forest and mangrove ecosystem that supports an array of stunning wildlife. Playa Viva is close enough to the trappings of modernity yet worlds away providing an immersion into the wonders of nature and escape to utter private relaxation. Nestled between the sparkling waters of the Pacific Ocean and the majestic Sierra Madre Mountains near the village of Juluchuca, Playa Viva is situated on a mile of pristine and private beach. All of Playa Viva's rooms have unobstructed ocean views and private bathrooms. Depending on if you are traveling alone or plan to share your room there are options for single or shared accommodations. Rooms are assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Playa Viva food is best described as "healthy Mexican," with a focus on traditional Mexican meals cooked with minimal oil and healthy and local ingredients”, incorporating as many organics as possible and growing as much food onsite as possible on the 3-acre farm. Dietary restrictions can be accommodated. Please be sure to note these in your registration document. 

No, none of the casitas have artificial air conditioning. The only air conditioning available is from the natural breeze flowing in from the ocean. The casitas are engineered to maximize the flow of air, minimize the heat effect from the sun, and make the environment as pleasant as possible.

A $500 non-refundable deposit s required to hold your spot on the trip. If you cancel prior to December 15, 2022 we will refund any payments you have made, minus the non-refundable deposit. All payments are non-refundable and non-transferable after December 15, 2022. International Yoga must strictly adhere to its cancellation policy to offset costs incurred prior to the commencement of retreat. Click here to view the Terms and Conditions to which you agree upon registration. Travel Insurance which covers 'Cancel For Any Reason, which must be purchased in a timely manner after registering, is strongly recommended. 

Yes. As all payments to International Yoga are non-refundable, the purchase of travel insurance is strongly recommended to ensure you are covered should any unexpected event arise. A personal, political, environmental, health or weather-related incident or pre-existing medical condition may prevent or interrupt your travels.  Should you elect to not purchase travel insurance, note that you will be assuming 100% of any costs incurred for trip cancellation or trip interruption. 

There are a broad variety of policies and providers for you to choose from. Be sure to understand the fine print of the policy you select to ensure you know exactly what is and isn’t covered — especially if you are concerned you may need to cancel for COVID-19 / pandemic-related reasons which most carriers would cover only under a "Cancel for Any Reason" tier of coverage. IMPORTANT: in order to guarantee maximum coverage, most travel insurance providers require that you obtain a policy within 5-10 days of placing your initial deposit. Although International Yoga cannot advise on specific policies or providers, you may find this guide helpful.

Entry into Mexico:

As per the CDC Covid-19 travel guidelines, all travelers must be fully vaccinated at least two weeks prior to the start date of the retreat.  

Departure from Mexico/entry into US:

Currently, all air passengers traveling back to the US, regardless of vaccination or antibody status, are required to provide a negative COVID-19 test result prior to boarding the flight back to the US. A positive test will result in an in-country quarantine. We will coordinate on behalf of the group where, when and how this test will be obtained. Cost to be advised.

IMPORTANT: These details remain in flux and we will share the most up-to-date government travel requirements approximately two weeks prior to your departure.
