Michelle founded International Yoga almost a decade ago out of her love for both yoga and travel. She developed her wanderlust at an early age with annual trips to visit family in Europe, leading to a lifelong passion for studying, traveling, and connecting with other cultures across the globe. From Antarctica to Uzbekistan, from bicycling around the Himalayas to traversing Africa for a year via public transport, her passport was so full of stamps that she needed extra pages added twice! Michelle earned a degree in International Relations, speaks four languages, and has been a presenter at the Yoga Journal Conference in San Francisco, New York, Miami, and San Diego. She has spent the last 18 years in the adventure-travel field and for 10 years has had the honor to manage retreats for many senior teachers as well as being the preferred retreat management company for YogaWorks, the largest yoga studio cooperative in the US, along with many other studios.

Stephanie comes to International Yoga with an extensive background in the business of yoga and active travel. Having worked for companies including YogaWorks and Backroads, Steph was given the privilege of assisting Erika Trice on her annual Bali retreat, and it was there she realized the best of both worlds did exist: yoga and travel. An integral part of the International Yoga family, she wishes to bring the opportunity to study with master-level teachers into the lives of those who also have a thirst for adventure and travel. A practitioner of many styles and a certified teacher herself, Stephanie is thrilled to engage anyone who is curious on how the practice of yoga can change your life forever.

We are open 9am to 5pm PST, Monday to Friday, and available on the weekends for any pressing matters.
Included in the trip price are all accommodation, breakfast, taxes, and many of the cultural excursions. Also very often included are private airport transfers and other meals. Generally not included is airfare, some meals, gratuities, and travel insurance.
The dates for our retreats indicate the arrival and departure dates of the trip. For example, if a trip runs from Jan 1 to 8, you would schedule your flight to arrive on the 1st and depart on the 8th. That said, we highly recommend arriving a day earlier whenever possible so that you can rest from your travels and adapt to any time changes before the actual retreat begins.
Our expertise is in organizing all of the logistics on the ground, from the moment you arrive until you depart. We do not book airfare for you, but can recommend reputable travel agents to assist you, and always ask that you send us your itinerary to review before you purchase it. Please be sure to read the fine print about any restrictions on your ticket. Travel insurance is strongly recommended.
To secure your place on any of our retreats via our Registration page or by phone by calling (+1) 415 250 0712. There is typically a $500 non-refundable deposit to secure your spot. (Cuba and India are exceptions with a $1000 deposit.) The final balance is due approximately 60 to 90 days before the start date of the retreat. A detailed confirmation email will be sent to you upon registration, with lots of helpful information to prepare for your trip ahead.

A non-refundable deposit of $500 (or $1000 for Cuba trips) is required to hold your space. Final balances are due approximately 60 to 90 days prior to the start date of the trip. All payments are non-refundable after the final balance due date. All cancellations must be received in writing. We recommend you purchase travel insurance in case of cancellation due to weather, personal injury, political or environmental events, etc. Payments are non-transferable to another guest.
Yes, we will work to match you with another traveler of the same gender, if this is your preference. If we are unable to find you a roommate, however, a single supplement will apply.
We strongly recommend that you purchase travel insurance for your trip to cover for any unexpected event that may delay or interrupt your travel. There are many travel insurance companies to choose from, but Travelex and World Nomads are two reputable organizations for worldwide travel coverage.
