Sianna Sherman
Sianna Sherman is an international yoga teacher, storyteller, and speaker at conferences and festivals throughout the world. She is the founder of Rasa Yoga, Mythic Yoga Flow®, and RITUAL. Sianna touches the human heart through story and offers teacher trainings, workshops, retreats, pilgrimages, and online studies. Her training includes three decades of study with master yoga teachers and scholars in India and abroad, as well as a background in bodywork, anatomy, herbalism, feminine studies, and climate reality training. She is currently dedicated to social justice education and to unpacking her own white privilege. In addition, she is in a two-year mentorship for shadow work and emotional intelligence. What inspired you to teach yoga?

To Serve humanity and the Earth

Who are your most influential teachers?

Mother Earth, The Maha Shakti in her many forms and lineage bearers of the Yoga Tradition

How would you describe your style?

Rasa Yoga is a bhakti fusion of asana, mantra, mudra, myth, pranayama, meditation, functional anatomy, Tantric yoga philosophy, shadow work, and soul alchemy.

Why do you feel retreats are transformational?

The power of transmission that flows freely when we're together physically in deep practice and prayer and especially when we're in the Sacred lands of India

What is your favorite pose to teach?

Eka Pada Urdhva Dhanurasana for the power of the heart to open and the feeling of rising up

What is your favorite pose to practice?

I love the whole spectrum of practice- if I had to choose something I love Hanuman handstand especially because it expresses the radical power of yoga to heal (I had broken my wrist 3x and could not weight bear until I learned the art of asana.)

What are your favorite places to travel?

Chidambarm~ Tamil Nadu, India, Osa Peninsula~ Costa Rica, Quan Yin's fragrant mountain island, Avalon- Glastonbury, England
