Lloyd Hawthorn

Lloyd Hawthorn grew up in and around the coastal areas of the beautiful South Pacific island nation of New Zealand, where from an early age he was passionate about all sports, movement and the beautiful nature the country has to offer. Coming out of high school, he had multiple opportunities to pursue a professional sports career but chose to focus on his other passion, the restaurant and hospitality industry.

Maintaining a fit, active and healthy lifestyle has always been an important focus of Lloyd's life. As he will tell you, in 2008, he ‘got dragged, kicking and screaming’ to his first yoga class. It became an instant love. Since then he has made the practice of yoga part of his daily life and started the true journey of a yogi.

Since 2017, Lloyd has been teaching yoga full time both in the US and overseas, leading 200 Hour Teacher Training and lecturing on everything yoga related from anatomy and philosophy to contraindications. He is a lover of movement, arm balances, handstands, inversions and creative sequencing.

He is passionate about connecting with his students, spreading his love for yoga and helping others in their journey by sharing his journey.
