Jean Marie Hays, RYT 500, has been teaching classes and private clients for more than 35 years. She has led destination retreats around the world, including Switzerland, Hawaii, Mexico and Bali. Her love affair with yoga began as a child, and she took her first training at the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health in 1990. She is the founder of Yoga Thrive, former owner of The Yoga Source, and author/producer of the CD, Deep Relaxation.  Jean Marie integrates years of training in various styles of yoga and meditation, Yoga Nidra, Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy, and Non-Violent Communication to create a heartfelt, nurturing style that is accessible to every body. She says, “I see the system of yoga as a doorway to self-love and the self-acceptance that comes when we learn to be both present and compassionate and bring that energy to the world around us.”

How would you describe your style?

A blend with Kripalu style as its foundation. One that fosters self acceptance, a meditation in motion that moves slowly in order to build awareness of what's happening in body, mind, emotions, and energy.

Why do you feel retreats are transformational?

It gives time and space for a deepening process to occur.
