Yoga Retreat & Immersion in Bali

Join Joan Hyman for a week in beautiful Bali, at a gorgeous cliff-front property facing the southern Indian Ocean, where you'll take in expansive views and amazing sunsets while exploring the rich local culture and taking your yoga practice to new depths.

This trip is open to those looking to expand their practice and enhance their studies, which can be done by either participating on the retreat portion or as a 40-hour immersion. These 40 hours can be credited to Yoga Alliance certification, and there will be a structured schedule that includes a 3-hour workshop-style practice in the morning, followed by a 3-hour session of philosophy, anatomy and hands-on adjustments in the afternoon. Those participating who choose to take part in the retreat portion alone, and not in the immersion module, will receive the benefit of deep daily morning yoga classes and then and have the rest of the day to enjoy the magical island of Bali!

You'll stay in beautiful villas located in one of the most tranquil parts of the island, guaranteeing sunny days, tropical breezes and ultra-consistent surf. All villas feature a traditional thatched roof and coconut pillars with large folding glass doors so you can take advantage of the spectacular natural beauty of the outdoors.

Do I need a Visa to travel to Bali?

No, if you are planning to stay in Indonesia for under 30 days, the Visa on arrival is free and also the departure tax is waived.

If you plan to stay longer then 30 days, you will need to obtain a Visa before leaving the US. For more information on this please visit the Embassy of Indonesia website.

IMPORTANT: If your passport expires within six months of your arrival date to Indonesia, please be sure to renew your passport before you go to avoid any issues at immigration. There are no exceptions.

What vaccinations do I need?

There are no required vaccinations for travel to Bali. However, there are some recommended (suggested) vaccinations given by the CDC. To see the complete list of what is recommended please visit the CDC Website and consult with your primary care physician to make a decision on what is best for you.

Are airport transfers included in the price of my trip?

Yes, private airport transfers are included in the price of your trip. Whenever you arrive, day or night you will be met by a private driver and transported to the group hotel. Note if you arrive early and decide to stay at an alternate location other than our group hotel, you will be responsible for coordinating and paying for your own transportation directly with the hotel where you will be staying.

What are the accommodations like?

The retreat location sits cliff-front on the southern Indian Ocean with expansive views and amazing sunsets. While commanding an ultimate view of Uluwatu surfing beach, the villas are also only minutes away from the famous Uluwatu temple, as well as some of Bali's best secret beaches.

The location is comprised of three 3 Bedroom villas and one 4 bedroom villa. There is one master bedroom and two/three guest bedrooms each with en suite bathrooms, a spacious living and dining area with an open-plan kitchen, a 6-meter swimming pool and an open Bale (thatched pavilion) with comfortable lounge chairs overlooking the pool.

Are gratuities included in my trip price?

Tipping is not customary in Bali, but greatly appreciated. Recommended is $10/day per person for hotel staff. This can be given to management at the end of your stay.  Tipping is also a nice gesture when eating out and to taxi drivers for their services.

Is the 40 Hour Training Module right for me?

Whether you are a certified teacher or a student interested in diving deeper into your practice, the 40 Hour Training segment of this retreat will be perfect for you. Each day will begin with a 2-3 hour group practice followed by afternoon workshops, sequencing labs, pose investigation, pranayama and meditation. The training portion of this retreat will qualify as 40 hours of credit toward Yoga Alliance CEUs.

What if I am traveling alone?

We get hundreds of travelers each year who go on retreat alone. If you are traveling without a friend or partner, but prefer to share your room, we will do our best to match you with another traveler of the same gender. If for some reason, we are not able to match you with a roommate, a single supplement will apply.

If you prefer to have your own private room, a single supplement will apply.
