Yoga in Peru with Joan Hyman
May 3-11, 2013
Join Joan to explore Peru’s spectacular Sacred Valley of the Incas, home to Machu Picchu, one of the most magical destinations on the planet. Nestled into the valley, close to dozens of Incan ruins and colorful traditional markets, the retreat center is a lush sanctuary of gardens and peaceful corners for personal contemplation.
In addition to daily yoga classes with Joan, our-expertly crafted itinerary takes us on a tour of the ancient ruins — including Machu Picchu — and the local markets, but also includes plenty of time for daily yoga classes and delicious, traditional Peruvian meals. The retreat center has comfortable rooms, a beautiful practice space, lush winding gardens and excellent cuisine. Because of the Sacred Valley’s spiritual history and breathtaking natural environment, it is a favorite destination for yogis worldwide.
Joan Hyman's grounded teaching style seamlessly supports her students as they emerge from their practice with the rich and bright energy that yoga offers. Joan’s teachings come from an organic and intuitive place, as she draws upon the combination studies of Ashtanga and Iyengar yoga as well as Ayurveda, and meditation. An authentic modern day yogi, Joan's love and devotion show up in her practice and through her teachings.
With over twenty years of experience leading retreats, trainings, and workshops worldwide - fifteen of which as a distinguished YogaWorks senior teacher - Joan recently brought her expertise to Wanderlust as the Director of Teacher Trainings. A leader in the Los Angeles yoga community, Joan’s openhearted approach to teaching yoga keeps both her inner spirit and her students continuously evolving. What People Are Saying
“… Working with International Yoga was truly incredible. Michelle and Marnee handled all the logistics; collecting payments, travel arrangements, marketing, organizing side trips, and coordinating with the hotel. This allowed Billy [Gill] and I to simply do our jobs as teachers, holding the space for our incredible group. Furama was stunning. The people in Ubud were so kind, and living their yoga so beautifully. If you’ve ever dreamed about doing a retreat abroad, connecting with International Yoga, is a fantastic way to help make that dream a reality!” –Ashley Rideaux
