Moksha In Maui

Moksha In Maui

In today's society, our days are busier and more distracted than ever before. Our yoga classes are shortened and we often arrive late or leave early. All the while thinking about everything except yoga, putting ourselves and our health last. Nestled into the tranquil beauty of one of the most remarkable resorts in Hawai, we will liberate ourselves from the mundane schedule of our everyday lives and slow down a pace of life where we are truly able to investigate and change our self-care practices. This gorgeous 5-star property is located in the town of Hana on the eastern tip of Maui and will provide a container for a week of deeply healing self-work. Days will be spent amidst the rolling grass fields and palm trees above Hana Bay overlooking the crashing waves of the ocean below. Free time between classes can be spent enjoying the amenities of your garden view suite, exploring nearby waterfalls, hiking to the black sand beach or indulging in world-class spa treatments. Yoga will be held in the gorgeous studio overlooking the ocean and lush grounds of this classic 'Old Hawaii' property. Let this week be a springboard from spring into the summer and from a casual yogi to a focused yogi in breath, asana, and energy!

To me, yoga is the practice of being ok with being uncomfortable, on and off the mat. I am the most unlikely of yoga teachers. As a young child, I developed scoliosis and was told that the only fix would be steel rods along my spine. Thankfully, my parents refused. I was a track and field athlete as a teenager and fought my stubborn spine the whole way. My first exposure to yoga was in a college acting class that I felt was ridiculous. Then I moved to LA to continue the hustle in better weather and was sleeping on a futon, yet still couldn't put together why my back pain was persisting. Still didn't give yoga a chance. I blamed it on everything - my competitive nature, not wanting to drink the "LA Kool-Aid," I'm too A.D.D. Then I noticed I had moved into an apartment that was 2 blocks from a yoga studio. The universe was ... Read More

FAQ

What airport do I fly into?

Flying from the US: Book your flights into and out of Kahului, Maui Airport (airport code: OGG).

Are airport transfers included?

No, airport transfers are not included in the price of your trip. Renting a car for the duration of your stay is highly recommended as there is much to explore on the island during your free time. The road to Hana is a spectacular 49-mile drive along the coast. The road's serpentine course follows Maui's northeastern coast, skirting forested ravines and countless waterfalls. The drive takes anywhere from two to four hours, but we recommend you make it a half day.

Are all my meals included?

Breakfast and a special welcome and farewell dinner are included in the price of your program. Lunches and all other dinners are not included.

Do I need travel insurance?

All payments to International Yoga are non-refundable & non-transferable. The purchase of travel insurance is strongly recommended to ensure you are covered should any unexpected event arise. A personal, political, environmental or weather-related incident or pre-existing medical condition may prevent or interrupt your travels.  These events are rare but do occur and underscore the importance of being covered by travel insurance.  Should you elect to not purchase travel insurance, you will be assuming 100% of any costs incurred for trip cancellation or trip interruption. TravelEx  and World Nomads are two reputable organizations. There is a broad spectrum of policies and options so make sure you are clear on what exactly is covered.

What if I am traveling alone?

If you prefer to share your room, we will do our best to match you with another traveler of the same gender. If we are not able to find you a roommate, a single supplement will apply.

If you prefer to have your own room, the cost of a single supplement is $700 for the week.

Are gratuities included?

No, gratuities are not included. We recommend approx $5-10 per person per day for the housekeeping and kitchen staff.

What is the cancellation policy for this trip?

All retreats include a $500 non-refundable / non-transferable deposit, which is required to hold your spot on the trip. If you cancel prior to February 20, 2019 we will refund your payment minus the non-refundable deposit. All payments are non-refundable & non-transferable after February 20, 2019. International Yoga must strictly adhere to its cancellation policy to offset costs incurred prior to the commencement of retreat. Click here to view the Terms and Conditions to which you agree upon registration.
