Yoga in Maui

Join Lainie at this exquisitely designed, stunning oasis of tranquility on the North Shore of Maui for a week of adventure as you dive deep into your yoga practice. The historic plantation estate was masterfully renovated in 2011, each room individually designed with unique furnishings and artwork, hand-selected from around the world. Enjoy time relaxing by the pool or explore the Island with optional side trips like a hike to the five lakes, a journey to a lavender farm that overlooks the sea or a stand-up paddleboarding/yoga excursion on Maui’s tranquil, breezy waters.

Each morning, Lainie will lead a well-rounded practice focusing on building strength, endurance and flexibility, using a wide variety of asana. The middle of the day will provide ample free time for stillness, reflection, adventure and discovery of all that Maui has to offer. Before dinner, Lainie will teach another yoga practice, which will include an exploration of other limbs of yoga such as pranayama, meditation and philosophy.

FAQ

What airport do I fly into?

Book your flights into and out of Kahului, Maui Airport (airport code: OGG)

Are airport transfers included in my trip?

Airport transfers are not included. Renting a car for the duration of your stay is highly recommended, as there is much to explore on the island during your free time. Also having a car makes getting to the nearest beach, just 10 minutes away, easy and enjoyable. If you do not plan on renting a car, the best way to get to Lumeria from the airport is by taxi. The ride will be about 20 minutes, and the cost is $30 to 40. You will pay your driver directly.

What are the accommodations like?

All rooms have rain showerheads and river-rock shower floors, Aveda bathroom products, artwork by Maui artists, small refrigerators, in-room safes, and iPod docking stations.

What if I am traveling alone?

If you prefer to share your room, we will do our best to match you with another traveler of the same gender. If we are not able to find you a roommate, a single supplement will apply.

If you prefer to have your own room, the cost of a single supplement is $700 for the week.

Are all my meals included?

Breakfast and dinner are included in the price of your trip. Lunch is not included, but is available for purchase at the restaurant.

Are gratuities included?

No, gratuities are not included. We recommend approx. $5 to 8 per-person per-day for the housekeeping and kitchen staff.

What is the cuisine like?

Chef Ben Diamond harvests the edible landscape for his farm-to-table dinner menus (which change daily) using seasonal ingredients harvested from the bounty of Lumeria's organic gardens and other local farms. Each night, sample new dishes prepared from mahi-mahi, Pacific steelhead trout, and other local fish and seasonal produce. In the morning, a complimentary breakfast of organic fruits, yogurt, and granola starts the day.

How close is the nearest beach?

A favorite among locals, Baldwin Beach is the closest and most accessible beach at approximately 4.2 miles from Lumeria Maui (approximately a 10 minute drive). Renting a car will make getting to the beach much easier for you.

Testimonials

K, Maher, Maui

Just loved the overall experience. The people I met were wonderful, and the setting couldn't be better. I liked that I had the free time to go off on my own, but I really valued the company of the others on the trip.

The spa and its technicians are out of this world! Terrific services and staff. The fresh juices that are sold daily at the front desk are wonderful creations as well!

I really enjoyed the food at Lumeria, as they offered vegetarian, fish, gluten-free, and dairy-free options—which was perfect for me!

The food was expertly prepared and presented beautifully. It was always delicious and hot. I visited their organic garden on the grounds and was impressed by the size and varieties. The kitchen staff and servers were so friendly and knowledgable about the foods. I also liked the availability of wonderful fruit smoothies and delightful coffee beverages for purchase. They also allowed us to bring bottles of wine to dinner to add to the festive meal!

I was lucky enough to experience a Lomi Lomi Hawaiian massage, which was AMAZING, and my massage therapist was great! The massage strokes reminded me of hula moves, and it was very relaxing and calming. I would get a Lomi Lomi massage every day if I could!

This retreat provided an opportunity to connect with people from all over. I am new to California after moving here from New York last year. I am so very grateful that I made new friends from my local area that I can see over again. I also met people from very near where I was from, and we made plans to get together in August when I return to New York for vacation. The roommate who was assigned to me couldn't have been a better match! We became fast friends and did everything together during free time. She happens to live only a couple of miles from me, and we have already made plans to get together. In all, this retreat proved to be transformational for me. My intention was to make CONNECTIONS, which I did on all levels. Deepening my practice, making new friends, and getting closer to nature. I feel grateful and blessed.
