Yoga in Belize with Jeanne Heileman and Jodie Rufty
Lighten Up! - A week of detox, fun and yoga directly on the Caribbean Sea
April 12 - 19, 2014
Join Jeanne and Jodie for a week-long adventure with a focus on opening the Heart Chakra and lightening your load, no matter where you are in life! Our retreat will take place at a resort located on the Abergis Caye on Belize’s Northwestern Coast. This also happens to be one of the most beautiful beaches in the area, mostly due to the clear water. The morning mediations will bring a clarity and inner strength to welcome all issues in your life. You will be surrounded by the ocean and water on three sides of a deck where we will practice yoga. In the afternoon you will be free to lounge, explore the island, or embark on one of the many water excursions offered.
The breezes will stroke your skin and help clear the accumulation from winter. The sand will slip in-between your toes as you walk barefoot throughout the week. Receive continued warmth from the sun as it burns away toxins leaving you glowing, inside and out. Slip into the water at any moment that moves you. Go snorkeling or scuba diving in some of the most beautiful regions of the world, seeing colorful and rare salt-water fish. Swim with sharks – really. Practice yoga on a deck 300 feet out onto the ocean with views of the water on three sides of the deck. Dine on Ayurvedic meals that will bring your health back into balance. Meditate with the waves of the ocean coaxing the mind to soften. Laugh a lot with new friends as you let go of heaviness in the body, mind and heart. This is going to be one fun-filled week that will renew you for the rest of the year!
All levels and attitudes are welcome as we learn to accept ourselves and open our hearts to the Present Moment. Jeanne and Jodie have a lot of wonderful things planned to make this retreat not only extremely fun but also truly meaningful!
CABANAS (Double Occupancy)
Limited “Island chic” individual cabanas, texturized throughout with woven thatched ceilings, soothing river rock flooring and mosaic countertops. In the traditional “old school” style, windows are plantation shuttered and accordion front doors open to the sea leading out to your private bush-stick front porch. Carved mahogany sinks with conch shell faucets keep you in the present island moment. Bathe privately under the sun or stars in your private bamboo shower area. Queen beds feature warrior wood headboards with mosquito netting and storage underneath. A loft can accommodate additional guests upon request. Limited ocean view Cabanas are available for a $200 per person upgrade fee. Singles are also available. Contact us for details.
VILLAGE ROOMS (Single Occupancy)
This more budget-friendly option is located in a three-story structure positioned on the lagoon looking out to the calm backside of the island. Huge windows in each room frame the wildlife and vegetation of the lagoon, a serene setting with mangrove, extraordinary sunsets, bird watching, crocodiles and peaceful quiet nights. These rooms are simple, well ventilated, and naturally lit with a shared bath & shower area. Rooms are hand crafted with wooden floors and an inspired captain’s bed-wooden stage that holds one or two twin beds. Doubles are also available. Contact us for details.
