Yoga & Culture in North India with Jeanne Heileman
January 17 - 25, 2015
Join Jeanne on a sacred journey to the birthplace of yoga. Our focus is Northern India, where we will immerse ourselves into the culture of meditation, prayer, practice and learning about the origins of yoga. We will visit sacred sites, meditate in temples, learn about the history of different yogis and practice some of the rituals. To visit India brings a deeper sense of spirituality and will inspire your practice to new heights upon your return home.
Our journey will begin with an expertly crafted tour through India’s most treasured sights starting with bustling Delhi where we’ll tour the ancient bazaars, sample the sumptuous cuisine and take a rickshaw ride though its narrow, ancient lanes. A first class train will bring us to the Taj Mahal — not to be missed! From there, we’ll drive to Jaipur where we’ll be hypnotized by the glittering jewels and the vibrant culture. A land of camel filled deserts, Jaipur is also a shopper’s paradise, where we’ll see first-hand how local artisans create their wares and crafts. A flight will take us to incredible Varanasi, one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world and for many the highlight of any journey to India. Witnessing all of life’s rituals on full display along the banks of the holy Ganges River is sight that will stay with you forever. The trip concludes with our return flight to Delhi.
An experienced guide will accompany us throughout the journey and we will also have additional local “insider” guides in each city. We’ll have our own private drivers and buses in each location and will fly between locations when possible for maximum comfort. Our hotels will be 4-5 star, restaurants will be selected for the quality of food as well as hygiene – each detail of this tried and true itinerary has been thoroughly thought out and tested. Its impossible to travel to India without being touched by it for many years to come and our entire team will work to provide a smooth and truly unforgettable travel experience. Join us!

What People Are Saying
“… Working with International Yoga was truly incredible. Michelle and Marnee handled all the logistics; collecting payments, travel arrangements, marketing, organizing side trips, and coordinating with the hotel. This allowed Billy [Gill] and I to simply do our jobs as teachers, holding the space for our incredible group. Furama was stunning. The people in Ubud were so kind, and living their yoga so beautifully. If you’ve ever dreamed about doing a retreat abroad, connecting with International Yoga, is a fantastic way to help make that dream a reality!” –Ashley Rideaux
