Yoga, Culture and Nyepi in Bali with Erika Trice
March 27 - April 3, 2014
Join Erika on a trip of a lifetime to explore the beauty and rich culture of Bali. Delve deeper into your yoga practice in one of the most gorgeous settings in the world. The Bali Institute, Ubud’s premiere cultural organization, will guide us on exclusive, off-the-beaten-track tours to some of Bali’s most colorful markets and sacred local temples. We will observe ancient spiritual practices and meet community leaders and dignitaries to develop a better understanding of this unique culture.
Our daily yoga practices will take place on a spectacular open-air platform overlooking terraced green rice paddies. Accommodation in a 5-star hotel resort is in private villas with their own spring-fed pools. Enjoy spa treatments, gourmet cuisine and great company for an unparalleled exploration into the heart of Bali.
***And this is one of the best weeks of the year to be in Bali as they prepare for the Balinese New Year, called Nyepi or ‘The Day of Silence.’ For the Balinese, it is a time for self-reflection and cleansing as they observe 24 hours of total silence, preceded by firecrackers, singing, laughter, parades and general excitement everywhere. It’s an unforgettable experience to witness the whole island shutting down (no electricity, no driving on the roads, no one working) and to be a part of this powerful ancient tradition. We, as guests, will also take part in the Nyepi rituals and celebrations which happen just once a year and it’s an experience that will stay with you forever!***

What People Are Saying
“… Working with International Yoga was truly incredible. Michelle and Marnee handled all the logistics; collecting payments, travel arrangements, marketing, organizing side trips, and coordinating with the hotel. This allowed Billy [Gill] and I to simply do our jobs as teachers, holding the space for our incredible group. Furama was stunning. The people in Ubud were so kind, and living their yoga so beautifully. If you’ve ever dreamed about doing a retreat abroad, connecting with International Yoga, is a fantastic way to help make that dream a reality!” –Ashley Rideaux
