Yoga and Culture in Italy with Peggy Orr
May 10 - 17, 2014
This beautiful retreat center, about an hour from Rome, lies in the midst of the Italian countryside and has just about the most beautiful outdoor yoga platform we’ve ever seen, overlooking the surrounding valley. Accommodation is in two beautifully restored 17th century stone farmhouses with terraces which open out to a gentle panorama of olive groves, fruit trees and stunning sunsets. The grounds are lush and abundant, with a natural spring, gardens, pond and a swimming pool. The property is peaceful, rustic and ideal for spiritual practice. Every room is unique and tastefully designed. Selected by Taschen books as one of the “Great Yoga Retreats” (2009), they described this retreat center as “a second home that makes you forget the passing of time.”
Morning and evening yoga classes will bookend our days with plenty of free time to explore the local region which has a rich culinary heritage and has been famous since ancient times for the quality of its food and drink, in particular its olive oil, one of the best in the world. The charming medieval village of Torri in Sabina with just 1000 inhabitants is only three kilometers away, Rome is an hour away and day trips are possible to nearby Orvieto and incredible Assisi.
Meals made from the freshest of local ingredients will be prepared for us by our personal chef and enjoyed around a traditional family style table. Relax by the pool or enjoy a therapeutic massage. As always with Peggy’s retreats you will be surrounded by an eclectic and fascinating group of fellow yoginis and yogis to experience all that Italy has to offer. Join us!
Peggy Orr's eclectic artistic background includes classical ballet, modern dance, choreography and theater in New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco. Her yoga practice began with Chuck Miller in 1989 at the original YogaWorks on Montana in Los Angeles. These days Peggy and her husband, Jim Desser, can be found living their dream in Pt. Reyes Station, where they spend their time with bees, chickens, compost and other organic friends. Peggy brings offbeat humor and experience to her classes in San Francisco and Marin County. www.peggyorryoga.com

What People Are Saying
“… Working with International Yoga was truly incredible. Michelle and Marnee handled all the logistics; collecting payments, travel arrangements, marketing, organizing side trips, and coordinating with the hotel. This allowed Billy [Gill] and I to simply do our jobs as teachers, holding the space for our incredible group. Furama was stunning. The people in Ubud were so kind, and living their yoga so beautifully. If you’ve ever dreamed about doing a retreat abroad, connecting with International Yoga, is a fantastic way to help make that dream a reality!” –Ashley Rideaux
